He has also authored textbook chapters on radiofrequency nerve ablation, facial pain, imaging of spinal pain generators, and neuromodulation implantable pain therapies.ĭr. Paterno has authored publications in clinical research and the basic sciences related to spinal fixation biomechanics as well as prolonged inflammatory responses in tissue injury. He continued further specialization training with an Interventional Pain Management fellowship at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, recently recognized by the American Academy of Pain Medicine as one of the top pain management fellowships in the country.ĭr. Paterno completed his residency training in Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree also from Stanford University Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, With Honors, and With Distinction. Paterno is double board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology. In his spare time, he enjoys water-skiing, cycling, and travel.ĭr. Malone is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Spinal Intervention Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Travis County Medical Society. Malone was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Perioperative Care at UT Dell Medical School.ĭr. He is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology, with a sub-specialty in pain management this is the only board certification for pain management endorsed by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Malone was a member of an Austin-based group practice for twelve years, and a clinical instructor at Baylor College of Medicine for six years. Prior to founding Advanced Pain Care in 2002, Dr. Malone attended Baylor College of Medicine for residency and training in anesthesiology, and then completed a pain management fellowship at Texas Orthopedic Hospital in 1998.
